Rosalyn Tyrer
Rosalyn was nominated for her caring attitude always willing to lend a helping hand “big or small”. She role models commitment, determination and perseverance in anything she does.The moment she enter the room the children immediately shower her with invitations to play, sing and simply “be friends”. She displays kindness and patience with the children. Rosalyn gets down to their level and engages in teaching, friendships, and making memories to last a lifetime. She is a team player and adapts to her environment in a calm and gentle manner. She has become part of our team at Pilgrim Wood and part of our family at the YMCA of Oakville. We thank her for bringing so much, in the simplest ways to so many.
Jeannie Garton
Jeannie wears many hats at the Y. She doesn’t hesitate to volunteer her time to assist with many Y events. She shares her skills and passion of working with young children. She initiated, planned and facilitated the breakfast with Santa which raised over $500.00 for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Jeannie is like an energizer bunny, always on the go and plays an important role on the committees she volunteers on by sharing an abundance of resources. She truly exemplifies the YMCA values in all that she does.
Nicolas Lehman
Nicolas dedicated his entire 8 week summer holiday from 8:30 am-4:30 pm to the Aquatics Lifesaving Leadership camps. He was a huge asset to the delivery of the aquatics program. He engaged with all the participants of all ages. His natural leadership skill came shinning through as he demonstrated and coached participants through a variety of first aid and water rescue skills. Nicolas’ passion for volunteering and caring for others is shown in all that he does. He demonstrated compassion to the participants who required some extra time to ensure they experienced success within the camps. He has set the bar high as a volunteer. It is a great pleasure to have him part of the Y team.
April Deltzer
April has been volunteering with the YMCA for just over two years. Her strong administrative skills are a huge asset to the YMCA. Her keen sense to detail ensures that the data she enters is accurate. April is an ambassador of the YMCA encouraging others to join and become part of the Y family. She is a positive role model always smiling and displaying a positive attitude. Within her busy schedule she still maintains time to help out at the Y. She is truly a valuable part of the Y team.
