Bring a Friend to the Y! Starts May 26!

Do you have a friend or family member who would like to try a week at the Peter Gilgan Family Y?  From May 26 to June 8, any current adult member of the Oakville Y can bring in an adult friend or partner to receive a one-week free guest pass at the Peter Gilgan Family Y.

Weekly Prize Draws!  Members who bring in a friend for a pass will have both their name and their guest's name entered into a weekly draw for prizes like upgrades to Members Plus, Kinesis sessions and Y gift packs.

For information, call the Y at 905-845-3417 or drop in to 410 Rebecca Street.

Y Swim Passes will support Oakville Public Library Reading Program!

The Oakville Family YMCA has generously donated 1,700 family swim passes that will be used as an incentive prize for the Oakville Public Library’s 2008 Summer Reading Program.  These passes will be used to help motivate participants to read over the summer and reward them for their achievements.  Last year the YMCA also donated 1,500 swim passes and we had many positive comments regarding our partnership such as: “We have friends that use the YMCA and we have never been.  We look forward to using the facility.”

This summer we want children to Laugh Out Loud at your Library… get ready to have children rolling down the book aisles Laughing Out Loud this summer because the theme is Humour. Be on the alert for fun books, stories and poems, hilarious jokes to tickle the funny bone, games that result in side-splitting, rib-tickling fun, brain teasers, tongue twisters, and knock-knocks that will have children roaring with laughter.
