Building Character
The YMCA is like my second home. When I moved to Oakville I didn’t know anyone here, but I knew the Y. I was a member back in Florida and I knew I could go to the YMCA for swimming, sports and camp, or just to hang out with other kids – so I did.
I joined Youth Leader Corps and made friends. Leader Corps helped build my confidence and it got me involved in helping my community. It’s hard to make the right choices all the time, but the YMCA is giving me a chance.

The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is a fundraising campaign which seeks to raise money to support kids and youth who need Y financial assistance. At the YMCA, we believe that everyone should be able to participate in our programs regardless of their ability to pay the fees. We focus on providing children and their families with the tools they need to succeed in life.
