The YMCA of Oakville is the largest Oakville provider of licensed child care centres for toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children. Specialized programs like Jolly Phonics, Risk Watch and Social Skills are incorporated into daily activities to ensure that your child has the opportunities that he or she needs to grow and develop.
Junior Child Care
Toddler and Preschool (1.5 to 5 years)
Junior YMCA Child Care Centres operate Monday to Friday from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm, year-round. Choose full-day, half-day, alternate JK or SK or nursery school programs. Kindergarten programs are designed for youngsters attending kindergarten and needing care beyond school hours. Nursery programs have been created for children not yet attending school. Programs are 2.5 hours long. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided.
School Age Child Care
School-age and Full Day JK/ SK (3.8 to 12 years)
School-age Child Care and Full Day JK/SK programs operate before school from 7:00 am until school starts and after school until 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, September to June. Full-day programs are offered on all P.A. days and school breaks. Nutritious snacks are offered before and after school.
Before and After School Care for Full Day JK/SK Program
The YMCA has been providing quality licensed child care across the Oakville community for 25 years! More than 2,000 toddler, preschool and school age children attend our 41 locations!
Thirty-nine of our licensed child care locations are within Oakville schools and we are very pleased to announce the continued successful partnership with both the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board by providing the before and after school program for JK/SK children attending full day Kindergarten.
If you require before and after school child care for your JK/SK child, the program will operate on instructional school days from 7:00 a.m. until school starts and from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Full day programs are offered at nominal cost on P.A. Days and school breaks at various locations.
